Welcome
Welcome to Doug Meyer Fine Art which I created over 30 years ago. Initially as Director of Sales for Dyansen Editions, the publishing arm of international retail gallery chain Dyansen Galleries, I enjoyed dialogue with many prominent national fine art gallery professionals. As I marketed the company's paintings, sculpture, limited edition serigraphs, lithographs and etchings to galleries, dealers and designers I learned of the many other artists they dealt in along with their inventories. As each gallery owner was looking for a specific piece that another gallery owner had in their inventory, I made a match and brokered countless deals. My employer preferred to concentrate on marketing only their stable of artists so I decided to open Doug Meyer Fine Art and have been fulfilling fine art wishes ever since.
Interior design, theater arts and music have always been strong personal passions. After earning a degree from Stony Brook University in Theater Arts, continuing education classes at FIT in interior design and 7 years as a Wall Street commodities broker I honed the skills which led me to Fine Art brokerage. I'm also a Realtor licensed in New York State and enjoy listing, staging and selling homes in my amazing hometown of New York City (www.bergenbasin.com). Brokering is definitely in my blood!
I've purchased much from other publishers and art dealers but antique, estate and yard sales are often rich with treasures as well. You never know what important piece you can find and where. That's why you 'll discover 'finds' on this site of various genres so dig around!! You'll only see choice pieces that I own, yet I have access to much, much more and relish the opportunity to find you any piece out there at the right price.
How can you buy from me? Let me know what you like, and I'll give you a quote. Feel free to tell me about pieces that you want to sell too so I can add your items to my extensive database from private parties and dealers. Count on me to share discreet, honest and timely information.
If you are a novice collector, please remember that I am here as a resource and that there are never any silly questions as there's so much to learn.
Call, email or text. Your next treasure awaits!!
Sincerely, Doug
